Nurbs or Polys?

I'm hoping someone sees this post. I'm working on the pumpkin and I wanted to ask a curious question;

Is modeling with Nurbs the best to go with or polygons? I know nurbs are mostly best for organic stuff but I'm still curious.

    I would go with Nurbs.. the point of this exercise is to practice layering shaders. Nurbs have automatic "UVs" -- which map your texture to the surface.

    If you model something "complex" in polygons, you will likely need to unwrap UVs.. we will go over that in the next class.

    If you wanna try unwrapping UVs anyway, you can look in maya help for "UV texture editor", and search for it in Digital Tutors.
